╳ STANLEY IPKISS
Mask / Big Head
Chaotic
Male
By himself, Stanley Ipkiss possesses no supernatural abilities or powers - he's just a regular nice guy that happened to cross paths with the Mask of Loki. When donning the mask, however, Stanely becomes possessed by it, turning into The Mask - a dangerous and cruel being with wildly violent tendencies.
The Mask posesses several powers and abilities:
[CARTOON PHYSICS]
The Mask is essentially a living cartoon and, as such, his body responds to the laws of cartoon physics. These are:
- Any body suspended in space will remain in space until made aware of its situation. EG: If The Mask walks off a clif, he will continue to walk nonchalantly until he realizes he's walking on air, usually by looking down.
- Any body in motion will tend to remain in motion until solid matter intervenes suddenly.
- Any body passing through solid (but not too solid) matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. For example, when colliding against a soft or thin surfaces, The Mask will burst through and leave a hole / crater in the shape of his body. Against particularly hard surfaces, his body will change as a result of the impact. It may spread out like dough, shatter into little pieces, turn into an accordion or anything equally absurd. This usually stuns The Mask, but he always recomposes himself in a short notice relatively unharmed.
- The time required for an object to fall twenty stories is greater than or equal to the time it takes for whoever knocked it off the ledge to spiral down twenty flights to attempt to capture it unbroken. Such an object is inevitably priceless, the attempt to capture it inevitably unsuccessful.
- All principles of gravity are negated by fear. Psychic forces are sufficient in most bodies for a shock to propel them directly away from the earth's surface, inducing motion upward - usually to the cradle of a chandelier, a treetop, or the crest of a flagpole.
- A sharp object will always propel a character upward - especially when poked in the posterior. This is usually accompanied by a wilhelm scream or a high-pitched screech.
- Characters can make previously nonexistent objects appear from behind their backs. For instance, The Mask can pull weapons, pies, an alarm clock, or whatever he needs for the current situation by reaching behind his back or digging into his pockets. This law also applies to pockets.
- Explosive weapons cannot cause fatal injuries, even when detonated right on someone's face. hey merely turn characters temporarily black and smokey. Facial features may get moved to the back of his head as a result, which The Mask then has to reposition manually. Lightning and fire based attacks achieve a similar result, save for the facial rearrangement.
[INCREASED SPEED, STRENGTH, STAMINA, DURABILITY AND REGENERATION]
As both a cartoon and a supernatural entity, The Mask is capable of pretty impressive feats, such as running at the speed of sound while leaving a blur behind, lifting up to a hundred tons,T survive explosions that would otherwise level city bocks, never showing fatigue unless for comedic purpose and cross-dimension regeneration.
[TRANSFORMATION AND METAMORPHOSIS]
The Mask is incredibly elastic, capable of stretching his limbs to absurd levels. He's also extremely malleable, capable of changing his appearence, biological composition and even duplicate himself. The Mask can sometimes utilize this power on objects, usually to disguise someone or turn a rabbit into a bouquet of roses.
[IMAGINATION PROJECTION]
The Mask is capable of using made-up techniques, only limited by his own imagination and the laws cartoon physics. If he believes he can shoot lasers out of his eyes, he will.
[WEAKNESSES]
If the mask is removed from The Mask's face, be it by pulling it out of his face or a hit strong enough to leave him unconscious, The Mask cannot maintain his physical form, turning back into Stanley. When this happens, Stanley usually has no recollection of whatever might have happened while he donned the mask. When dropping the mask after a very long transformation, Stanley may also find himself exhausted, since The Mask draws from his mental and physical force to utilize his powers.
