╳ SITE RULES
I. RESPECT YOUR FELLOW PLAYER
Simple enough. If you have a problem with someone OOC, keep it OOC and take it to PM, preferably off site if possible. We don't want to see drama in the cbox, and we definitely don't want personality or character relations changed at the drop of a dime just because you and another player have a dispute. We expect you to act as mature as possible here.
II. CHARACTERS PER PLAYER
Starting out you may have two characters (unless otherwise dictated by staff). After you have amassed a total of 25 posts on each of these characters, you may appeal for a third character. Simply PM a staff member to make your appeal, giving the character you wish to play and your reason for playing them. Your reasoning should be valid, and something more than "I just want to." Give a clear, concise purpose, especially if you want the inclusion to affect site-wide plot in any way. This may seem odd to an extent, but when considering we are claiming canon characters that already have detailed back-stories and personalities we would like to be sure that we're entrusting them to players who will play them appropriately.
III. EXPLICIT CONTENT
We're definitely not trying to adhere to the Comics Code Authority or anything (joke too old?), but we would like to ask that pornographic images and erotic roleplay be kept off site. If you would like to insinuate sexual acts occurring, simply fade to black at the end of the thread. Proboards doesn't appreciate this type of content being used on their forums. Aside from this, we would consider this site mature in that graphic violence and language is allowed, along with references to drugs and alcohol (kind of hard not to reference drug use with characters like Bane running around).
IV. HONOR SYSTEM
Feeling that stats play too large a role and bring cause for argument on a number of sites, we have opted to forgo any sort of stat rulings entirely. When dealing with a combat situation, we ask that you play honorably and always communicate with your fellow players during the encounter. While most of us would agree that power levels are meaningless in most forms of media, comics included, that is simply because it is dependent on the author as to who is victorious. Here, however, we're relying on the input of many authors, so win or lose is completely up in the air from the start. We'd like to ask that you keep things interesting and not be the one to always insist your characters win in a fight. Should two or more players come to a disagreement, it is always fair to relay the circumstances to staff and have us come to a conclusion for you.
V. CONFISCATION
If staff finds that you are playing your character inappropriately or find that you've gone out of character for them, we may strip you of your privilege to said character. We would also ask that you inform us if you are going to take a leave from site for longer than a week, and to wrap up any threads your character(s) may be in before said leave. If you are absent for more than a week without word, we will immediately confiscate your characters, and possibly kill them off if they've grown important to the site's plot.
